FNX First Nations Experience

FNX (First Nations Experience) is a non-profit broadcast television network in the United States that is exclusively devoted to Native American and World Indigenous content. The network is a partnership between the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation and the San Bernardino Community College District, and it is owned by and originates from the studios of KVCR-PBS in San Bernardino, California. As the first and only national broadcast network of its kind, FNX launched in the Los Angeles area on September 25, 2011, and expanded nationally on November 1, 2014. The network’s mission is to provide the public with programming of the highest quality, using media to educate, inspire, entertain, and express the diversity of American Indian and other World Indigenous cultures, and their contributions to society .

The programming schedule allows viewers to watch live channel coverage of Native-produced and themed documentaries, dramatic series, nature programs, cooking shows, gardening segments, children\'s series, and arts programming that accurately illustrate the lives and cultures of Native people around the world . In May 2025, FNX launched a free streaming platform with a red-carpet gala event at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort in Rancho Mirage, California, hosted by the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation and the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, who provided the start-up grant for the original broadcast channel. The gala featured headlining performers The Halluci Nation (formerly A Tribe Called Red), culinary bites by James Beard Award winner Chef Sean Sherman (The Sioux Chef), comedian JR Redwater, and hoop dancer ShanDien Sonwai LaRance . Notable Native actors and producers affiliated with the network include Jessica Matten, Eugene BraveRock (from the series Dark Winds), Ruth Ann-Thorn (host and producer of This Is Indian Country), and Miccosukee filmmaker Montana Cypress, whose short film Lumbeeland is featured on the network. The network is led by Executive Director Charles Fox and spearheaded by Frank Blanquet, who oversaw the creation and launch of the FNX App .

For audiences seeking a reliable live stream, FNX is widely available via digital terrestrial television through 29 affiliate stations broadcasting into 34 states, reaching a potential audience of more than 84.5 million households across the United States. The network is accessible over-the-air on KVCR Channel 24.2 in the greater Los Angeles media market and via cable on Frontier FiOS Channel 471. In addition, the network has launched a free streaming app available for iOS and Android devices, which includes a livestream of the FNX broadcast channel and extensive video-on-demand content. FNX is also streamed digitally by partner stations including Arizona Public Media, LPTV (Minnesota), KUAC (Alaska), CPT12 (Colorado), WCMU (Michigan), UEN (Utah), WHRO (Virginia), KBTC (Washington), and other affiliates across the country . The network has expanded to major markets including New York, Chicago, Phoenix, Anchorage, and Tulsa, ensuring that its Native American and Indigenous cultural programming reaches viewers across the United States and worldwide .
